Raw is War
WCW kicked off RAW IS WAR from its former stomping grounds of Atlanta with a Street Fight between chairman Shane McMahon and Diamond Dallas Page.
Shane entered the ring bearing a kendo stick, but as Page was being introduced, the Undertaker and his wife interrupted! Taker told Shane that he wanted a piece of DDP. Page came down with a steel chair but met a beating at the hands of the Undertaker.
As Taker pounded on Page, Shane crept up and whacked the Dead Man with his kendo stick! Page and Shane teamed up to beat down Taker until Sara attacked Shane with his own weapon! But all Sara received for her bravery was a Diamond Cutter from Page. Shane and DDP left the ring in arms, celebrating their deception of the Undertaker. Page later took off on Taker's motorcycle for a night on the town.
Federation Superstar Kurt Angle challenged Booker T to a match with the WCW Championship on the line. Booker accepted, and the two climbed into the ring with Shane escorting Booker T and Nick Patrick officiating. Booker T controlled most of the match until Angle managed to snap on his ankle lock. Shane distracted Patrick and even pulled him from the ring! This prompted Federation official Earl Hebner to race in and take over, but Shane also pulled him from the ring!
Hebner tried to count again, but found himself pulled from the ring by Patrick! Angle confronted the WCW referee, but Hebner tackled his arch rival and the two tumbled outside the ring! The distraction allowed Shane to slip the WCW Championship to Booker T who used the gold to clock Angle in the head! Another WCW official raced in and counted to three as Booker rolled up Angle!
Scott Hudson tracked down Torrie Wilson and Stacy Keibler to inquire about their recently announced match at Invasion. WCW's starlets will meet Trish Stratus and Lita in the first tag team bra and panties match at that Pay-Per-View! Stacy said she and Torrie would show why WCW gals always end up on top.
In what was meant to have been a handicap match, Chris Jericho decided to help Kane take on the team of Lance Storm and Federation Hardcore Champion Mike Awesome. An impressive confrontation ensued, but the biggest surprise didn't come from the decision. As Kane and Jericho took control, ECW's Tommy Dreamer and Rob Van Dam raced in to help Storm and Awesome!
But shortly after a team of Federation Superstars broke up the melee. D-Von and Bubba Ray Dudley, Tazz, Rhyno, Raven and Justin Credible raced to the ring and stared down the WCW Superstars. Punches were thrown, but only to the bodies of Kane and Y2J as the Federation's army teamed up with WCW!
Paul Heyman abandoned his commentator position and took a mic into the ring. He said that the 10 men who stood in the ring with him had decided to leave their organizations and rejoin the dormant ECW! He challenged Shane and Vince to a fight, and said that the invasion had just gone to the Extreme!
Shane met Vince backstage and defused a possible fight by asking for Vince's help. He said he needed five Federation athletes to team up with five of his WCW Superstars to take on the ECW invaders in a match later that night! Vince agreed to unite with Shane for that evening, and that evening only.
The WCW and Federation teams entered the ring for the main event and immediately came to blows. The WCW team, consisting of tag champions Sean O'Haire and Chuck Palumbo along with Shawn Stasiak, Mark Jindrak and Kanyon were thrown from the ring as the ECW platoon entered. ECW evicted the Federation from the ring and the WCW warily entered in preparation for a fight.
But the ECW and WCW stars hugged each other, as did Heyman and Shane! Vince, stunned beyond belief, asked what was going on. Shane said he knew he couldn't beat Vince's checkbook, so the WCW Chairman could only outsmart his father. It turns out that Shane had orchestrated the whole ECW uprising and that both companies would destroy the Federation at Invasion!
Their was one more surprise waiting for Vince before the night was over. Shane introduced the new owner of ECW, his sister, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley! Vince's jaw sunk to the floor as his daughter pranced past him and united with her brother in the ring!
